Amelia Baisden
Amelia Baisden, 14, studies cello with Daniel Levitov at the Peabody Institute Preparatory. She is a scholarship holder for intensive weeks at the Academy of Music in Liechtenstein and principal cellist of Maryland Classic Youth Orchestras' Philharmonic. She has performed at Carnegie Hall, as a concerto soloist with Accord Symphony and with PYO as Grand Prize Winner of the 2024 Advanced Concerto Competition, and by invitation of the U.S. Secretary of Education at the 2023 International Summit on the Teaching Profession Gala. She was selected as an active participant at the 2024 Cello Masterclasses in Kronberg (studio of Marie-Elisabeth Hecker with a Scholarship Award towards future studies in Kronberg) and at the 2025 Cello Akademie Rutesheim (studio of Marc Coppey with a featured concerto performance with Württembergische Philharmonie Reutlingen). She's enjoyed cello lessons and masterclasses with Nick Canellakis, David Finckel, Paul Katz, and Laurence Lesser, and summer festivals including Heifetz Institute, Music@Menlo, and Morningside Music Bridge.
