Shixun Song

Shixun Song is a senior at Phillips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts. He has studied piano for 14 years and currently studies with Isabella Li at New England Conservatory. Shixun has earned first prize in numerous competitions, including the Rubato International Piano Competition, the Massachusetts MTNA Competition for three consecutive years, and the A. Ramón Rivera Piano Competition, in addition to receiving top honors in many others.
Beyond solo performance, Shixun is a dedicated chamber musician. He is an alumnus of NEC’s Chamber Music Intensive Performance Seminar, where he won second prize in the New England International Chamber Music Ensemble Competition as a member of Trio Lucidus.

At Phillips Academy, Shixun serves as co-head of the Chamber Music Society and principal saxophonist of the Wind Ensemble. As a Director of Global Operations for the Back to BACH Project, he is deeply committed to expanding access to classical music for young children.
