Yiming William Chang

Yiming William Chang, 18, is currently a freshman at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, studying with Haesun Paik. He graduated with honors from Walnut Hill School for the Arts, where he also attended the NEC Prep under the tutelage of Alexander Korsantia. Chang has participated in PianoSummer at New Paltz and the Amalfi Coast Music Festival in Italy, working with world-class musicians. In January 2025, he was one of four high school pianists selected to perform in a masterclass with Marc-André Hamelin on stage at Boston Symphony Hall, as part of the Boston Symphony Orchestra’s Beethoven & Romanticism Festival. Chang is a prize-winner of the Wiesbaden International Piano Competition in Germany, the Boston Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition, the Yamaha Asia Music Scholarship Competition, among others. Also active in chamber music, he has performed across Massachusetts, including at Calderwood Hall in the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. Dedicated to community engagement, he has brought music to preschools, churches, and senior centers.
