Christopher Yun
Christopher Yun, a 13-year-old violinist from Maryland, began playing violin at the age of four and currently studies with Sheryl Staples at Juilliard Pre-College in New York. His recent honors include the Gold Prize at the 2025 Bellagrande International Music Competition, winner of the 2025 Maryland MTNA Competition, finalist at the 2024 International Anton Rubinstein Competition, and First Prize at the 2024 DC Strings Concerto Competition. In 2025, he performed at Carnegie Weill Recital Hall as a Grand Prize winner of the Concert Artists International Competition. Christopher is a recipient of the Epstein Foundation Scholarship from Juilliard Pre-College and a full-merit Starling Scholarship from MPulse Center Stage Strings. In 2024, he performed in a masterclass with Ray Chen at the Colburn School and previously studied with Stefan Jackiw. Christopheralso served as concertmaster of the Maryland Classic Youth Orchestras for several years. Outside of music, he enjoys reading and traveling.
